Baked Apple, Allspice, Honeycomb
Limited Time Offering - Costa Rica shows off in a quieter, more refined way here. This cup is clean and expressive, with baked apple sweetness, warm allspice spice, and a honeycomb-like richness. Bright but composed, itβs the kind of coffee that feels intentional from first sip to last!
This coffee comes from the Macho farm in Santa Rosa, high in the mountains of LeΓ³n CortΓ©s, TarrazΓΊ. At 1900 meters above sea level, the cool temperatures, steady winds, and sandy soils help the cherries ripen more slowly, which builds sweetness and keeps the cup clean and clear. The result is a balanced, elegant coffee thatβs easy to drink.
Details
Producer: EfraΓn Naranjo Naranjo
Farm: Macho
Region: TarrazΓΊ
Micro Region: LeΓ³n CortΓ©s
Process: Washed
Elevation: 1900 masl
Variety: Catuai
Source
Santa Rosa Micro Mill has been operating since 2010 and sits high on a mountaintop in LeΓ³n CortΓ©s. In its early days, strong winds damaged the drying beds, showing just how exposed and challenging this environment can be. Today, those same winds, along with the high elevation and steady rainfall, help shape coffees that are clean, structured, and full of clarity.
Story
The Macho farm is run by EfraΓn Naranjo Naranjo, part of a family deeply rooted in coffee production in TarrazΓΊ. The farmβs sandy soils, high humidity, and abundant rainfall create ideal conditions for growing great coffees, while the mature 13-year-old trees bring depth and consistency to each harvest.
Coffee at Santa Rosa isnβt rushed. Itβs shaped by place, weather, and experience, and every lot reflects the patience and care it takes to grow great coffee at this altitude. Greater Goods is proud to share this Costa Rican release and the story behind it.
